Rakhtbeej

bribRakhtbeej/b/ibrBEXPECTATIONS/BBRBR When it is tough to decipher even the meaning of a film’s title, there are all the less expectations that one has from the a target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’music/a. Add to that the fact that there is absolutely nothing known about iRakhtbeej/i and apprehensions about this musical score from Satish-Ajay (with lyrics by Ravi Mantwal) only grows further. BRBR Ba target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’MUSIC/a/BBRBR Mamta Sharma is the voice for Rakhi Sawant as she goes about singing ‘BiLattoo/i/B’. While there is no denying the fact that for any song to work it is the basic tune that plays an important role, once can also not ignore the fact that it also depends upon the overall setting as well. Mamta had has recently delivered a hit with another raunchy number ‘iAa Re Pritam Pyaare/i’ and one of the major reasons it works is due to the platform it enjoys. Now in ‘iLatto/i’ too Mamta does well but neither the tune nor the setting compliments her presence behind the mike which means the song would disappear in a jiffy. BRBR The way ‘BiItni Bhi Main Buri Nahi/i/B’, it gives an indication of a love song in the offering. However its arrangements are so old fashioned that one fasts loses interest. As Neha Bhasin begins her rendition, you know that this one is a song of seduction. With lyrics that go as ‘iBaby I Am On Fire/i’, you know that the setting here totally belongs to the 90s (and that too in not in a very good way). Co-composer Ajay (Mantwal) brings himself on as a singer as well (after ‘iLatoo/i’) but doesn’t register any impact. So is the case with the song as well which belongs to quick skip variety. BRBR There is some spunk though in the way title song ‘BiRakhtbeej/i/B’ begins. With a Western setting to it, it also has some vociferous singing from ‘Vinod Rathod’. There are some heavy duty lyrics that take forward this song that may come during the opening credit sequence and some dramatic junctions of the film. However the song never manages to make an impression that would qualify it to be heard outside the film’s narrative. BRBR Only number that actually manages to catch your attention to some extent at least is ‘BiAdha Gila/i/B’. Aishwarya Nigam sings this one with a punch as he goes about narrating the conflict which plays in the mind of the central protagonist. Ravi Mantwal’s lyrics are good here as they well establish all things that have been left mid-way for the lead character here. This one has the potential to make an impact as a montage sequence. Later Aishwarya also sings a much slower ’sad version’ though one would still want to go back to the original number. BRBR However all enthusiasm goes for a toss as a well tuned song is let down by the vocals of newcomer Nidhi Prabha. With all due encouragement for young talent, the fact remains that ‘BiNaina Hue Banware/i/B’ could have turned out to be a much better outing (it isn’t great but still can be heard at least) if only there was a better singer at the helm of affairs. BRBR A mandatory club song makes an appearance soon after in the form of ‘BiBolbaala/i/B’ and manages to dilute the disappointment of the song gone by to a little extent at least. Leave aside lyrics like ‘Whole Night Party Karenge, Tere Baap Ka Kya’, this one benefits from a safe tune that can promise some interest level amongst audience if complimented by good visuals. Sung by Abhijeet Sawant, Deepak Giri and Chandana Baruah, ‘iBolbaala/i’ is repeated with Shaan and Chandana. This one is at least catchy, a feat that not many songs in the album otherwise manage. BRBR BOVERALL/BBRBR A largely forgettable soundtrack, it is hardly expected to help the film’s cause. BRBR BOUR PICK(S) /BBRBR iAdha Gila/ibria target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’Source/a: www.bollywoodhungama.com/ibrbribFerrari Ki Sawaari/b/ibrbEXPECTATIONS/bBRBR One isn’t quite terribly excited about checking out the songs of ‘iFerrari Ki Sawaari/i’. Even though people at the helm of affairs are the likes of Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Pritam, you do get an impression that the a target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’music/a here would be an out and out situational outing which may start making a much better impression only after the film’s release. With apprehensions around what really is in the offering, one plays on the album. BRBR ba target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’MUSIC/a/bBRBR The way ‘biMaara Re/i/b’ begins, it reminds one of the anthem a target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’music/a that was played during the ‘iMunnabhai/i’ series. In fact one can clearly sense Vidhu Vinod Chopra brand of a target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’music/a playing here with Pritam recreating the vision that he must have carried for ‘iFerrari Ki Sawaari/i’. A song about cricket, ‘iMaara Re/i’ is written by ‘Swanand Kirkire’ with Sonu Nigam, Rana Majumdar, Aishwarya Nigam and Ashish coming together for this song that has a good pace and rhythm to it. In fact it is surprising that in this IPL season this song is not quite utilised to the fullest since it has the potential to find favour amongst a target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’news/a and commentary. BRBR ‘biRusy’s Theme/i/b’ arrives next which is a three minute piece and has a Spanish base. It sounds quite sweet as long as it lasts and thankfully has a subtle tone to it which maintains its smooth flow. What isn’t subtle though is ‘iMala Jau De/i’ which is sung quite well by newcomer Urmila Dhangar. This is the much talked about item number (though Chopra doesn’t wish to call it one) featuring Vidya Balan in a Marathi ‘lavani’ setting. Guru Thakur’s lyrics compliment the setting as well and while Pritam keeps it all authentic here, one can again sense Chopra’s influence at work here, especially in the theme sound that plays alongside. BRBR Things turn much quieter though with ‘biAe Mere Mann/i/b’ which is about the thoughts going in the mind of a child who is up for his big mission. Written by Swanand Kirkire and sung by Shyamantan Das, this is also the longest track in the album with duration of over five minutes. A song about truthfulness and the desire to walk the talk despite the path being full of thorns, this one has a thematic feel to it and would be much more meaningful if complimented by just the right setting and visuals in the film’s narrative. BRBR Amitabh Bhattacharya pitches in with lyrics for the remaining two songs of the album. Starting with ‘biGood Night/i/b’, he comes up with a lullaby which appears to be a legacy left by a mother to her child. With a ‘iTaare Zameen Par/i’ deja vu prevalent in the song, this one is sung well by Priyani Vani Pandit who almost seems to be whispering in a child’s ears. BRBR ‘biChal Ghoome (Ferrari Ki Sawaari) /i /b’ which arrives next is the best of lot. Though this one has a good pace, it starts rather slow. In fact one would have preferred a beginning akin to that of ‘iMaara Re/i’ or ‘iMala Jau De/i’ since a song like this would have done better with an out and out racy presentation. Nevertheless, one has to give it to Pritam here for churning out the tune in such an old fashioned manner that it promises to enhance the simplistic mood of the film. Also, credit to Shaan for singing in a voice that totally compliments Sharman Joshi. One hears Boman Irani and Aayush Phukan faintly as well. BRBR It’s an easy going outing though with ‘biLife Yeh Mausambi Si/i/b’ which has a laidback feel to it, as conveyed in the way it is tuned. K Mohan sings this one in the same style as that of Mohit Chauhan and does a good job in ensuring that one can play it on in a repeat mode and still not get bored. Of course one does remember ‘Life Bahaut Simple Hai’ (Stanley Ka Dabba) since the theme, treatment and the core ideology behind living life is just the same. Moreover, lyrics by Satyanshu and Devanshu Singh are simple too and conclude ‘iFerrari Ki Sawaari/i’ on a satisfactory note. BRBR bOVERALL/bBRBR ‘iFerrari Ki Sawaari/i’ is a decent album which, as expected, has a situational theme and presentation to it. This also means that it limits the commercial aspects as would reach out to the audience better after the film has been released. If and when the film succeeds, ‘iFerrari Ki Sawaari/i’ can expect to find much more acceptance amongst the audience. However one does feel that there should be much more emphasis on ensuring that ‘iMaara Re/i’ reaches out to much wider ‘junta’ this cricket season. BRBR bOUR PICK(S) /bBRBR iMaara Re, Chal Ghoome (Ferrari Ki Sawaari), Mala Jau De/ibria target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’Source/a: www.bollywoodhungama.com/ibrbribYeh Khula Aasmaan/b/ibrbEXPECTATIONS/bBRBR There isn’t much known about the film iYeh Khula Aasmaan/i expect for the fact that it is about a boy who is facing challenges in his life during his growing up years. Since the film has an offbeat theme, one expects the same from the a target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’music/a as well. The film marks the comeback of composer duo of Anand-Milind but one does wonder what’s the kind of soundtrack they would have in the offing here. Ravi Chopra is the lyricist. BRBR ba target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’MUSIC/a/bBRBR The way ‘biHar Ghadi/i/b’ begins, one is instantly reminded of ‘iJab Koyi Baat Bigad Jaaye/i’ [iJurm/i] which itself was an inspiration from a Western song. Nevertheless, despite the similarities here, ‘iHar Ghadi/i’ by Kunal Ganjawalla does stay with you after it has been heard first. A sad song about the protagonist who is wondering about things going wrong in his life, it is a rather uncharacteristic beginning to the album. BRBR After Kunal, it is the turn of Gayatri Ganjawalla to come behind the mike, this time for ‘biTum Mile/i/b’. Lyrics here are quite ordinary though with routine words spun to make a romantic outing that has Soham Chakraborty joining Gayatri behind the mike. The tune by itself isn’t any exciting either and seems like a pale shadow of the wonderful work that Anand-Milind had come up with during the 90s. Moreover, even the arrangements are way too ordinary in the name of being simple. BRBR Suresh Wadekar and Swapnil Bandodkar come together for ‘biAari Aari/i/b’, a lullaby. Sounding nothing better than a ’sugam sangeet’ outing that was left way back in the 80s, this one further adds on to the dull mood of the album and actually succeeds in putting a listener to sleep. BRBR Raghubir Yadav tries to perk up the proceedings with ‘biUr Fur Kar/i/b’ but the tune is hardly the kind that would make the song cover the kind of distance that his ‘iMehngai Dayain/i’ (iPeepli [Live] /i) had managed. This one too has a rustic flavour to it where Raghubir and Ravi Chopra attempt to draw parallels between life and a kite. However the end result is hardly the kind that would make the song fly high. A much more contemporary version of the same song appears as ‘biZindagi Bhi Patang Hai/i/b’ but beyond adding to the situational appeal of the narrative, this Amey Date sung track hardly leaves an impression. BRBR bOVERALL/bBRBR iYeh Khula Aasmaan/i promises to tell a noble cause and the a target=_blank href=’http://www.wowmails.com’music/a also never loses sight of the message if wants to convey. However the compositions are hardly the kind that leave even a momentary impression, leave aside a long lasting one.
