Post Satish Kaushik adopts his ancestral village

After having made his mark in films, the actor-director Satish Kaushik has now taken a step towards a social cause by adopting his ancestral village, Dhanaunda, in the Mahendragarh District of Haryana, which is 140 kms from Delhi. Even though the fact remains that Satish was born and brought up in Delhi (Karol Baug to be precise), he is very attached to his ancestral village because it never ceases to bring back memories of his childhood & his grandparents.

The said village has a population of around 7500 - 1,00,00 odd villagers. And Satish aims at transforming it into a model village by providing it with all the basic amenities like electricity, water supply, concrete roads and hygienic sewage systems. In a bid to materialize this further, he also met with the Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Chandigarh and presented him his plan. Following this, the CM now has not only approved & supported his initiative but has also granted a wholesome amount of Rs. 50, 00,000 from the Rural Development Corporation, for the Dhanaunda village.

Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Satish Kaushik said, "It's my ancestral place. And whenever the villagers use to see any film that either starred me or was directed by me, they all used to feel very proud; stating someone from our village has made it really big in Bollywood. One fine day, when I realized that the friends with whom I grew up with (in the village) are growing old and needy, and the elderly folks in the village are really in need of all the basic amenities that the city folks enjoy, I decided to take up the village under my wing by adopting it. As they say, it's my payback time to my village, as it forms one of the backbones of whatever I have achieved today."
